The international girl group KATSEYE, whose fame surged this year, has earned nominations for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the Grammys.
“We grew up watching and dreaming about moments like this, and seeing it become real feels surreal.”
The group expressed deep gratitude toward the Recording Academy and fellow nominees, stating:
“We’re so thankful to the Recording Academy for this recognition and to all the incredible artists nominated alongside us. We can’t believe this; it’s so inspiring to be in such amazing company. Most of all, thank you to our fans, our Eyekons, for supporting us every step of the way.”
KATSEYE is nominated for Best New Artist alongside Olivia Dean, The Marías, Addison Rae, Sombr, Leon Thomas, Alex Warren, and Lola Young. Last year’s winner, Chappell Roan, introduced the category during the Grammy nomination announcement.
The group experienced significant growth over the past year and first gained attention through the Netflix documentary Popstar Academy, which documented their transformation from hopefuls to international stars.
KATSEYE was created through the YouTube competition series Dream Academy, a collaboration between K-pop powerhouse Hybe and Geffen Records aiming to form the first global girl group.
