I have a complex history with smartwatches. As a kid, I was fascinated by them and even wore a Seiko MessageWatch in 1998, long before constant internet connectivity was the norm. Back then, watches delivered small, non-intrusive updates like stock quotes and sports scores.
Today's smartwatches, however, are quite different. I often feel overwhelmed by nonstop notifications, and none of the software has ever felt truly comfortable. To replace my cherished analog watches, a smartwatch must offer more than just message alerts.
Samsung’s One UI 8 update has started to transform my Galaxy Watch Ultra’s usability. Even though I never had issues with performance, the update made the watch noticeably more responsive and smoother when navigating through tiles.
While I can only speak about the Ultra model, it is likely that these performance improvements will benefit older watches as well.
“One UI 8 is more responsive overall. It’s snappier since I updated, and I love how quickly I can glide through my tiles.”
One UI 8 refreshes the Galaxy Watch Ultra experience by enhancing responsiveness and usability, making it a compelling reason to reconsider this smartwatch.
