During the first of a series of Australian shows, Oasis experienced a dangerous moment at their sold-out October 31st concert in Melbourne. A flare was launched into the crowd as the band closed with "Champagne Supernova" at Marvel Stadium.
"Then very quickly I saw it explode and expand a bit further, and then somebody actually pick up the live flair and toss it back in the air and created more fire and smoke in a different area," said concertgoer Brad Bultman in an interview with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
"I was like, ‘Oh geez’ — you hope nobody gets hurt.”
Bultman noted that initially, the flare appeared to be part of the show’s pyrotechnics, but the situation quickly became alarming.
Gallagher first reacted at the concert by telling the crowd “naughty, naughty, naughty.” Later, on X/Twitter, he strongly condemned the individual responsible with explicit language:
“To the massive CUNT who launched that flare into the crowd last night at the gig in Melbourne you are 1 seriously fucked up individual and you will get yours trust me.”
This occurred during Oasis' three-show run at Melbourne’s Marvel Stadium.
