Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou, 37, who collaborated with actor Jeremy Renner, 54, on a documentary and an animated movie, accused him of sending explicit materials and behaving aggressively during their professional relationship.
According to Zhou, Renner sent her intimate photographs and pornographic videos in an attempt to win her over. She also alleged that he went on drunken rants that made her fear for her safety and later threatened to call immigration authorities after their relationship deteriorated.
In an interview with the Daily Mail, Zhou described a meeting at Renner’s home where tensions rose during a discussion about their film project.
"During a discussion about the documentary’s logistics, he drank a bottle of wine alone and began yelling for two hours. I had to share my location with my team, my parents, and Disney colleagues in case something happened to me."
"I locked myself in a room to stay safe, praying he wouldn’t come in at night. I was terrified for my life."
Zhou shared her accusations in an Instagram post, which drew widespread attention from followers and media outlets. The alleged behavior, she claimed, caused her significant emotional distress and fear.
The allegations have become the subject of public scrutiny, with neither side offering further official comment regarding the ongoing situation between the collaborators.
