Chinese filmmaker Yi Zhou has accused Marvel actor Jeremy Renner of domestic violence, persistent harassment, and threatening to call ICE to have her deported. Zhou, 37, made these allegations in Instagram posts and a detailed interview with The Daily Mail.
Their relationship reportedly began in July after Renner sent Zhou unsolicited explicit photos and showed an interest in her film projects. Renner collaborated on two of her films: an animated feature and a documentary titled Chronicles of Disney.
Zhou described visiting Renner’s home in Reno to work on the documentary when he became aggressive. She said:
“I was discussing the doc logistics, then he drank a bottle of wine alone and got angry and yelled for two hours. I had to location share to my team, my parents and Disney colleagues in case something happened to me. I locked myself in a room to be safe, praying he would not come in at night as he was really angry. I did not say a word, I was so scared for my life.”
In messages shared with The Daily Mail, Zhou allegedly sent texts from inside the locked bathroom, describing Renner as “violent” and expressing fear for her safety.
Yi Zhou’s allegations implicate Jeremy Renner in serious abusive behavior during their relationship, supported by her detailed account and evidence.
