During the press tour for the final season of Stranger Things, Netflix avoided discussing a viral report claiming that Millie Bobby Brown accused co-star David Harbour of harassment and bullying on set. Despite these allegations, Brown and Harbour appeared friendly and posed together at the season five world premiere in Los Angeles on Thursday evening.
When asked about the bullying claims on the red carpet, co-creator Ross Duffer said:
“Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters, but I will say we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them. So, you know, nothing matters more than just having a set where everyone feels safe and happy.”
At the premiere, director and executive producer Shawn Levy also addressed how the production handles bullying complaints and ensures a safe environment:
“At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.”
Levy additionally called some stories about the viral report “wildly inaccurate.”
The Duffer Brothers and Shawn Levy emphasized a decade-long supportive relationship with the cast, underscoring their commitment to maintaining a safe and respectful work environment amid bullying allegations.
