The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced on Thursday the ordination of Gérald Caussé as the latest member of its Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
Caussé, from Bordeaux, France, served as the church’s presiding bishop for a decade. His responsibilities included humanitarian aid, welfare programs, tithing, fast offerings, physical facilities, and membership record organization.
He also held positions as a counselor in the Presiding Bishopric (2012-2015) and as a General Authority Seventy (2008-2012).
“Elder Gérald Caussé is the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was called on Thursday, November 6, 2025, and ordained the same day by President Dallin H. Oaks and the other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.”
Gérald Caussé, with a decade of leadership as presiding bishop and international roots, has been ordained as the newest apostle, strengthening the global representation within the church.
