SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Gérald Caussé, formerly serving as the Presiding Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, has been appointed as the newest member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles.
The appointment took place on Thursday, November 6, 2025. President Dallin H. Oaks, together with other members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, officially set Elder Caussé apart for his new role.
“I’ve always had a testimony of Jesus Christ. He’s always been in the center of my life. And I know He’s our Savior and Redeemer. What a wonderful thing it is to be a witness of Christ. That’s the best responsibility or stewardship we might have in our lives.”
Elder Caussé’s appointment continues his lifelong dedication to the Church and follows years of service in global leadership roles. He will now join the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in guiding the worldwide Church.
