New Jersey hosts the Montreal Canadiens at Prudential Center to start a three-game homestand. The winner of tonight’s game will be the first team in the league to reach 10 wins this season.
The Devils were on the ice at Prudential Center for their morning skate ahead of Thursday night's game against Montreal. Center Cody Glass participated in line rushes and is set to return after missing seven games due to an upper-body injury.
“It was a weird injury to have, it popped out of nowhere. I'm happy to be back with the guys,” Glass said.
“I’m 100 percent and shouldn’t be limited at all. I'm just trying to jump right into it, get hit, see how it goes. It’s hockey.”
Forward Connor Brown, who practiced the day before but missed the previous two games, was not on the ice during the morning session.
With Glass returning, the Devils are reassembling the lines that helped them achieve an eight-game winning streak. Glass will take his spot at center on the third line, allowing Mercer to move to wing and reunite with Nico Hischier and Timo Meier.
Additionally, rookie Arseny Gritsyuk will move down to the third line, easing some defensive responsibilities.
Cody Glass is back for the Devils, reuniting key lines as New Jersey aims for its 10th win in a critical matchup against Montreal.
