Kazakhstan to Join Abraham Accords, Trump Says

WASHINGTON – On November 6, US President Donald Trump announced that Kazakhstan will join the Abraham Accords, expanding normalized relations between Israel and Muslim-majority countries.

The declaration followed a call between President Trump, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

“We will soon announce a Signing Ceremony to make it official, and there are many more countries trying to join this club of strength,”

Trump wrote on Truth Social, emphasizing the growing reach of the diplomatic initiative he launched during his previous term.

The Kazakh government confirmed that the issue is in its final stage of negotiations.

“Our anticipated accession to the Abraham Accords represents a natural and logical continuation of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy — grounded in dialogue, mutual respect, and regional stability.”

The statement underscored Kazakhstan’s long-standing approach to balanced international relations.

Although Kazakhstan already maintains full diplomatic and economic ties with Israel, officials in Washington considered the upcoming move more than symbolic. Secretary of State Marco Rubio said:

“It’s an enhanced relationship beyond just diplomatic relations.”

Background

The original Abraham Accords, brokered during Trump’s first term, saw four Arab nations — the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan — normalize relations with Israel. Trump has consistently voiced his goal to expand the agreement to include additional Muslim-majority partners.
