First and Last Bakery, LLC Recalls Tomato Sauce Products

First and Last Bakery, LLC, based in Hartford, CT, is recalling specific tomato sauce products due to a potential health risk identified by the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection.

Recalled Products and Distribution

These items were distributed starting September 22, 2025, through October 28, 2025, primarily in Connecticut and Massachusetts via Big Y and possibly other retailers.

Packaging Details

Both products come in 26 FL OZ jars and are identified by their specific names and UPC numbers.

Reason for Recall

Health Risks

Botulism, a serious and potentially deadly foodborne illness, may develop from consuming these products. Symptoms include general weakness, dizziness, double vision, difficulty speaking or swallowing, breathing issues, muscle weakness, abdominal swelling, and constipation.

“Botulism can cause symptoms such as general weakness, dizziness, double vision, trouble with speaking or swallowing, difficulty in breathing, and muscle weakness.”

Current Status

Authorities continue working to ensure compliance with all safety standards to protect consumers.

Summary: First and Last Bakery is voluntarily recalling select tomato sauce products due to safety concerns to prevent potential botulism poisoning, with no reported cases to date.
