Some celebrity chefs divide opinions or cater to specific groups, but Rick Stein is widely adored. The UK-born chef and TV personality has been a familiar figure on Australia’s east coast dining scene for over 15 years, visiting so frequently he might as well be considered an unofficial Aussie.
This summer, Stein is set to make a splash in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs by opening a new seafood restaurant with his signature blend of simplicity and excellence.
Rick Stein already owns two successful restaurants in NSW:
After several years without plans for expansion, a new announcement earlier this year revealed that Stein and his wife Sarah ("Sas") will open a 224-seat restaurant, Rick Stein at Coogee Beach, located in the InterContinental Sydney Coogee Beach.
“The truth of it is that the two Bannisters hotels and my restaurants were taken over by [investment management group] Salter Brothers in October last year,” Stein says. “And that was a bit of a surprise. But actually starting to work with Salter Brothers, I realised how professional they were and how much I liked working with them.”
This collaboration has influenced Stein’s recent ventures and contributed to his growing presence in Australia.
Rick Stein continues to charm Australian diners with his simple yet exceptional seafood, expanding his restaurant empire with a new venue in Coogee Beach backed by a professional partnership.
