Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo was forced to leave Wednesday’s game against the Denver Nuggets after suffering a left foot injury. The 28-year-old center was initially listed as questionable but did not return for the remainder of the matchup.
At the moment of the incident, Miami was trailing 122–112 late in the fourth quarter. According to Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, Adebayo’s injury occurred just eight minutes into the game.
“Bam Adebayo not on the court for the start of the second half. Kel’el Ware starting in Adebayo’s place,” wrote Anthony Chiang on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
The Heat big man appeared to be in visible pain when he exited the court, raising concerns among fans and teammates alike.
“Obviously Bam going down was unexpected, but still competing vs the No. 1 offense and a top-5 defense is something to build on. Last year’s team would’ve lost by 35. There shouldn’t ever be a rebound disparity of 20 — that’s deflating and gives the other team more attempts.”
“Was always going to be tough with Bam. Made impossible once he didn’t come back in. Proud of the effort the group showed. Hopefully Nikola Jokic can give Niko some advice while he’s there. Hopefully Bam’s injury isn’t too bad, but the lack of an update is concerning.”
Before the injury, Adebayo was averaging 22.4 points, 9.1 rebounds, and 3.3 assists this season, continuing to be a central figure in Miami’s lineup both offensively and defensively.
Bam Adebayo’s left foot injury against Denver has left the Heat and their fans uneasy, as the team hopes for a quick recovery of their star center.
